Overview:
The primary responsibility of an associate attorney is to handle and/or oversee all aspects of a client’s estate planning case including client meetings, other communications with clients, drafting documents, funding estate plans, communicating with financial advisors.
Associate attorneys are on the “front lines” of the communication with clients. Associates will work hard to further the Firm’s Mission of providing excellent Estate Planning and Asset Protection Services. Associates are expected to work to ensure that the Firm’s clients get excellent service.
Reporting Relationship:
Associate attorneys report to the Managing Attorney.
Authority:
With respect to control over cases, supervision of staff, and administrative duties, Associates will have only that authority that is specifically delegated by the Owners.
Estate Planning Associates will work directly with drafting, funding and client services support staff. Associates are expected to constantly work with these team members to support them and improve the firm’s systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
- The Associate shall perform legal services including: legal research, client meetings, drafting and reviewing documents, reviewing and supervising the funding process.
- The Associate will be responsible for managing cases from initial consultation until file closing.
- The Associate will be required to do sales presentations and group community presentations and should be comfortable with public speaking.
- The Associate shall assist with training of team members.
- The Associate shall work to improve workflow systems and intra-office communication.
- The Associate may also conduct initial consultations with prospective clients and serve as the principal contact between the Firm and its clients.
- When delegated by the Owners, the Associate may prospect for new clients through marketing, networking, writing articles, and speaking engagements.
Education & Experience
Associates attorneys must have a law degree from an accredited law school and be licensed in state where they practice.
Prior experience with sales and/or frequent public speaking.
